Getting Started

Smart Reminders is available through two primary access points: the web application and Microsoft Teams. This guide will help you get started with both platforms.

Accessing Smart Reminders via Web

The web application provides a comprehensive dashboard for managing all your reminders.

Step 1: Navigate to the Application

Open your web browser and visit the Smart Reminders web application at reminders.udyamo.com.

Step 2: Sign In

Click the Sign In button and authenticate using your Microsoft account. Smart Reminders uses Microsoft authentication to ensure secure access and seamless integration with Teams.

Step 3: Grant Permissions

On first login, you’ll be asked to grant permissions for Smart Reminders to:

  • Read your profile information
  • Send notifications on your behalf
  • Access Teams data (if using Teams integration)

Review and accept these permissions to continue.

Step 4: Welcome Dashboard

After successful authentication, you’ll see your Smart Reminders dashboard with:

  • Quick create reminder form
  • List of upcoming reminders
  • Navigation menu for different sections
  • Account settings

Accessing Smart Reminders via Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams integration provides the most seamless experience for creating and managing reminders while you work.

Step 1: Install the App

Install Smart Reminders from the Microsoft Teams app store. You can find it by:

  1. Clicking the Apps icon in the Teams sidebar
  2. Searching for “Smart Reminders” or “Udyamo Smart Reminders”
  3. Clicking on the app tile
  4. Selecting Add or Add for me

Step 2: Open the Personal App

After installation, access Smart Reminders by:

  1. Locating the Smart Reminders icon in your Teams sidebar
  2. Clicking to open the personal app
  3. The app opens with your personal dashboard

Step 3: Start a Chat with the Bot

Smart Reminders includes an intelligent bot for natural language interactions:

  1. Find Smart Reminders in your Teams chat list
  2. Start a conversation by typing a greeting or reminder command
  3. The bot will respond and guide you through creating reminders

Step 4: Add to Channels (Optional)

To use Smart Reminders for team collaboration:

  1. Navigate to a Teams channel
  2. Click the + icon to add a tab
  3. Search for and select Smart Reminders
  4. Configure the tab name and settings
  5. Save to add the reminder dashboard to your channel

Initial Setup

Set Your Timezone

Smart Reminders needs your timezone to deliver notifications at the correct time:

  1. Open Settings from the dashboard menu
  2. Select your timezone from the dropdown
  3. Click Save to apply changes

Your timezone is automatically detected but can be adjusted if needed.

Configure Notification Preferences

Choose how and when you receive reminder notifications:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications
  2. Select your preferred notification channels:
    • Microsoft Teams chat
    • Email notifications
    • Web push notifications
  3. Set quiet hours if desired (times when notifications are paused)
  4. Save your preferences

Create Your First Reminder

Test the system by creating a simple reminder:

  1. In the web dashboard or Teams chat, type: remind me to test Smart Reminders in 5 minutes
  2. Confirm the reminder details
  3. Wait for the notification to arrive

This confirms that Smart Reminders is working correctly.
